For over 35 years, Halpewatte Tea has been producing some of the most uniquely, delicious teas to come from Ceylon. Our devotion to tea has made us the number one tea factory in Sri Lanka’s Uva region: a region renowned for its flavorful teas. Our commitment towards ensuring the highest standards in manufacturing has won us a host of accolades for consistency in product quality. This in turn has encouraged us to expand our business across borders. We currently export our own, garden fresh, factory fresh, unblended teas manufactured from hand-picked tea buds grown in our very own well-maintained tea plantations.

Being a family business, social responsibility and sustainable farming have always been a important part of our business philosophy. To this end, we work closely with a large cross section of Ceylon’s ‘Tea Small Holders’ from whom we source more than 60% of our bought leaf. Our attempt is to enable the growth and sustenance of a vital industry and thus actively contributing towards enhancing farming techniques and ensuring quality in every step of the process, right up to final production.
